About Me

I'm Perla Alba Ledesma — a luxury calligrapher, live engraver, and heat foiling artist based in Hinsdale, Illinois, serving clients across the greater Chicago area and beyond.

Through Plume + Script, I specialize in live on-site personalization experiences and in-studio custom work that transforms ordinary moments into something genuinely memorable. Whether that's engraving fragrance bottles at a brand activation, hand-lettering place cards for a wedding, or creating heat-foiled gifts for a corporate gifting suite — the work is always rooted in one belief: the smallest details carry the most meaning.

I also teach modern calligraphy workshops for groups and private clients — bringing people together through creativity and the art of beautiful writing.

How it all began

From a love for beautiful writing, to a passion for creating elevated moments…

I'm Perla — a Chicago native with Latina roots and the founder of Plume + Script, a live personalization studio serving luxury brands, event planners, and private clients. Like so many others, 2020 shifted everything for me. Sent home from my career to work remotely, adjusting to a new routine, I found myself craving a creative outlet. Captivated by the beauty of calligraphy, I purchased my first calligraphy kit and started learning.

What began as a hobby in those early days grew into something deeper by 2023. After losing my mom just a year and a half earlier, I found myself questioning more and feeling a strong pull to do something more meaningful. That loss gave me the courage to take chances and explore a new path — one rooted in creativity, connection, and intention. Becoming an entrepreneur wasn’t something I had planned, but it became something I felt deeply called to pursue.

Today, that same passion drives all that I do at Plume + Script — helping others celebrate life’s moments with beauty, intention, and heart.
